A Republican, he is also an independent public relations consultant.[1]
Schomacker was first elected to the House in 2010, rebuffing longtime former state representative and majority leader Ted Winter in his bid to return to the state legislature.[2] He serves on the Agriculture and Rural Development Policy Committee, the Health and Human Services Finance Committee, and the Judiciary Committee.[3]
Schomacker graduated from Luverne Senior High School in Luverne, Minnesota, then went on to Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, earning his B.A. in public administration, speech communication and political science in 2008. He served as the university's student body president from 2007-2008. In 2010, he earned his M.P.S. online from George Washington University, based in Washington, D.C.[4][5]
